We’re about to wrap up Q1, which is always a good time to check in and reflect on how we’re tracking 2023 goals and where attention needs to be pulled from and directed. Take some time this week to review what has gone well the past few months and prepare yourself for the next quarter. 🫡
Listen, I’ll be the first to admit that I spend a little too much time on Twitter. All done under the guise that there are some business-related jewels that I simply won’t find elsewhere. While that may be true, the Pareto principle strikes again—so here’s the 20%:

Love this one as a macro trend. I’m seeing a number of sellers dropping ad spend on Amazon and seeing a decrease in revenue but an increase in the bottom line. This is an important measure to consider while weathering any economic challenges.
Simple Modern is the poster child of winning the “brand” game on Amazon. Differentiating their catalog and building a flywheel where customers look specifically for their products. Bryan Porter and his team have absolutely crushed in the drinkware category (super competitive and hard to differentiate imo) so I’d take his wisdom in favor.

Check out the TikTok page: @stonemaidens and go through the first few videos. This is a Masterclass in creating TikTok organic content. Changed the trajectory of this book and all forthcoming intellectual property.

Aggressive, but could be the touchpoint your business needs if done with tact. Also, a great way to move extra inventory. If your product has the margins to support the sampling strategy, I would definitely explore the opportunities here. Kiehl’s Skincare runs a robust sampling program which is a big reason why customers build such loyalty toward them. Think of ways to bridge the gap between the first sale and general interest.
Yes, algorithms are mysterious and safely guarded. But instead of over-complicating the inner workings, understand that it’s really built for one purpose: To serve GOOD content to the RIGHT people. This can be expanded to every social media algorithm. If you haven’t hit virality with your videos, it’s because they’re bad performers. Not because the algorithm hates you.
